PERFECT FUSION OF ART & TALENTS

Arka ShankaranWhen he was just Three years and three months of age, one fine morning he took his papa’s sketching pen and drew an illustration in continuous line without breaking the momentum of the line. According to this cute little boy, the illustration was of his cousin brother Aakash. It was raining and he was sitting wearing a raincoat. Unbelievable Creation by 39 months SoumitraThis amazing piece of art has made his father realise, who himself is a renowned artist, that this boy has a different spark. If he will get encouragement and proper freedom, he will shine with his divine art in the near future. This is the story of a Young and brave Artist Soumitra Sanjay Bhoir. Right now, Soumitra is 20 years of age, studying in third year of Product Designing at Unitedworld Institute of Design (UID), Ahmadabad.Soumitra started drawing regularly from five years of age. From the age of five years, he created every drawing with his own ideas and imagination. His imaginations are really amazing, hard to believe that these are created by any five-year-old kid. See this one, you will totally agree with me. Drawing by 5 years Soumitra, directly with the colour sketch pens. The beauty of his Drawings and Painting is, Soumitra from his age of three years, never uses pencil to draw rough sketches and then finalize by pens or colours. He draws directly with a pen or brush. This shows his extraordinary confidence level. Makes his drawings and paintings very special, unique and truly extraordinary.See this painting, you will also agree with my above statement. This painting of a Clay Potter, is created by Soumitra when he was Six years old, that too directly with the brush and colour. “The Potter” who makes hand potteries. Soumitra’s Painting at the age of six with direct brush and paint. This is one more sketch of Soumitra, He has shown the growth of India. One tall person standing on the globe. Above glob, there is a tree. At the bottom of the tree Soumitra showed Ashok Chakra, to represent India, since he was not properly remembering how to draw the Indian Flag, and added that he learnt about Ashok Chakra in the school a few days before. This was the explanation about his own creation by Soumitra when he was just six years old. Soumitra’s illustrations when he was just six years of Age. Amazing expressions and style.Soumitra has great curiosity and attraction about DINOSAURS. The Giant species of the animal kingdom vanished in early centuries. His brain, a little thinker within his mind, always thinks about these giant animals. His imaginative stories are reflected in his art and drawings. His imaginations and expressions through his such drawings are so cute and innocent. It’s a sheer pleasure to see those drawings even today, after so many years. Just look at these two sketches. In this first drawing Soumitra has shown a Giant Dinosaur who has swollen one man, which we can see in the stomach of this Dinosaur. Isn’t this imagination being Cute and Genius? In this second Drawing, Soumitra has created a tall human being. According to 6 years of Soumitra, this tall man is going to kill that Dinosaur and save that poor man in his stomach. Soumitra might have sometimes seen rock stars on the television and liked his appearance and get up. Suddenly one day he drew a painting of Rock Star. He got first prize for this Drawing. The way he is showing the perfect character and expressions of any human or animal, that too in his own style, that’s just wonderful. Soumitra’s Spontaneous Paintings when he was just Six to Seven years old. There are many more wonderful drawings of Soumitra, which are well preserved by his parents. I can’t show you all these wonders right now, as we have limitations to this article. But You can see more Soumitra’s drawings at our online Art Gallery. This boy is a wonderful soul. Amazing born artist. In our next topics related to Child Art, we will discuss his other various drawings, as these are really monuments and Marvels in the Child Art History. Soumitra’s Painting “Girlfriend*. Draw when he was 15 years of age.Soumitra is not just so talented in Drawing and Painting, equally very bright and brave in his academic studies throughout his schooling. When he appeared for the tenth exam, after his exam once he told his father, “I am going to get around 91 to 92% in the exam. His father took it as his positive thinking and laughed at him. He said he has checked all his question papers again; he is telling this remembering his answers. When the result was announced, Soumitra secured 92.3%. Though he was sure of getting 90 plus percentages, he was firm that he wants to go to science after 10th, but does not want to study engineering or the medical field. He wanted to study further in Art and Painting. After his 12th exam he again told his father, he is going to get 88%. This time his father listened carefully, remembering his past experience after 10th. When the result was announced, Soumitra secured 88.21%. This generation is superior to our generation in all aspects. But Soumitra is not just superior, he is just GENIUS. His focus and determination are extraordinary. This generation is superior to our generation in all aspects. But Soumitra is not just superior, he is a true GENIUS. His focus and determination is extraordinary. Soumitra’s recent new invention as a Product Designing Student. FOLDABLE HELMET.Now Soumitra is studying Bachelor of Product Designing from world renowned UID, AHMEDABAD.In his assignments of product designing recently he has developed one product. Portable Helmet. As today’s youth is always moving on two wheelers. So almost everyone carrying a Helmet. Since it’s huge in size, it is difficult to carry all the way. This wonder boy has invented a design of a portable Helmet, which fulfils all Indian government’s norms and rules.

Everest World is setting Remarkable Social Awareness & Supporting to Child Art…

We all Indians are very much fond of Celebrating our Festivals. All our festivals are linked to Nature around us & related to Nature’s Cycle from ancient times. Festivals keep our social environment healthy. The Ganesha Festival in Maharashtra is one of the most auspicious and popular amongst all age groups and communities. It is described in Shri Ganesha Atharvashirsha, about Lord Ganesha, त्वं अग्नी, त्वं वायु त्वं, सूर्य त्वं, चंद्रमा त्व… It clearly indicates that Nature is God, Keeping Nature protected and safe, pollution free is real worship of God. Knowing these facts from our childhood, we don’t follow these proven facts. We are facing lots of severe problems today, due to our imbalance Growth. But there is one township in Thane City, where they worship Ganesha while chanting the importance of environmental balance. Every year they are organising a mega Drawing and Painting Competitions. The subjects of this drawing competition are held to create Awareness of keeping Nature Safe and maintaining Nature’s Balance. Residents of “Everest World”, A modern township in Kolshet, Thane, West in Mumbai Metropolitan Region, participating in the Ganesha Festival with a very unique and innovative concept. The Decoration of Ganpati Bappa is always an attraction for all devotees. Everest World organises the Drawing Competition every year before Ganpati festival & displaying these drawings as a background decoration of Shri Ganesha. This is a really unique Concept. But Everest World has not just organised a Drawing Competition of Children, but they are keeping the subjects of Social Awareness and related to Environmental issues, and to register the importance of keeping Environmental balance. This year they have organised the drawing competition on Drawings of resident children on Global Warming. When I visited Everest World Ganpati Festival and Drawing Exhibition, I was really surprised to see the Ideas, As one of the judge in the juggling panel of this Drawing Competition, it was really a difficult task to me to select the winners, as the Concepts and the Drawings of the Children were really very creative. As all of us knows, Global Warming is the key issue and a serious problem for Mankind’s survival on our Mother Earth. Choosing this subject for the drawing competition shows the keen social awareness of the residents and the active organisers. My beloved Aunty Ashaji is leading this entire drive. As we all have read her article on her Art Journey in the last week on our website at symphony.in.This young and creative Soul is herself a renowned self-taught artist and writer. As I said, she is young and just 77 years of age. But her enthusiasm is like a 17-year-old girl. Along with her concepts and guidance Volunteers named Dipti Kotian, Pallavi Sakpal, Abhijeet Kanungo, Rohit Malvankar is amongst the core team to execute such a unique and mega event.Nowadays, we can see people spending huge amounts of money on decorations for the Ganpati Festival. But Everest World with this innovative concept, saving that huge money, which after the festival one cannot use for any other work or for any other good cause. Additionally, they are encouraging inborn talents of Children and encouraging them for Drawing and Painting. The expert judging panel is assessing those creations and giving prizes to the winners. All kids are happily participating in this drawing competition and when they see their drawing as a part of decoration of their beloved Ganpati Bappa, that becomes the wonderful moment of their innocent world. I hereby appeal to all our viewers to follow this very unique and ideal concept set by Everest World. As we promote the importance of child art through our website and through our various programs and activities, I strongly felt that I should appreciate and introduce Everest Worlds this amazing and creative Concept to all our readers across the globe. If we start celebrating our traditions and festivals with such unique concepts, we will set good examples in front of today’s children and that will also help them to take interest in Drawing and Painting. And Drawing Competition on such subjects like Global Warming and other subjects of Social Awareness, this generation will be more keen on these topics and we can create a healthy and creative generation for betterment of our society, our Country and for Mankind. I appreciate Everest Worlds this unique way of celebrating Ganpati festival. My Kudos to Everest World’s Residents…Sanjay Bhoir Chief Editor & Founder President, ART SYMPHONY.

Child Art, Mirror Reflection of Kids’ Minds. Part 1

Child Art, Mirror Reflection of Kids’ Minds. Part 1: Kid’s Drawing & Painting Dazzling Fun of Colouring Dreaming Idea’s Amazing Freedom of self learning Create beautiful Drawings Strokes of Brush Painting Brain tonic, mind relaxing It’s mirror of kid’s thinking Above lines define the exact role of Child Art in children’s overall healthy and positive nurturing. In this series of Articles, we will see how Child Art works efficiently, in a kid’s physical, mental and emotional development. How child Art is improving children’s brain’s synchronisation with their body. Also keeps the brain active with positive and creative thinking. Many times, it becomes very difficult to understand parents, what’s happening in their kid’s mind. They expect, kid should speak with them. He should express himself. But that Child prefers to either keep Mum or… If parents insist again and again, he starts telling them lies… starts creating some stories and telling something else, which differs in 180° from the facts. When parents start realising that their cutest kid has started telling lies to them, many more times, they get angry. Sometimes furious. Have you given deep thought to this situation? Why, that innocent soul start hiding facts from his parents? As in today’s Era, both the parents are always busy in their career. Either they do any professional task or any job. The reason is, they won’t give much time to their children when those children need their time. Many kids are staying alone after coming from their school. In this particular phase, I start feeling very lonely. Here the negative thoughts start entering in their mind. Every day, they start waiting for their parents to come home in the evening. Due to workload and hectic travelling, parents reach home by 8.30/9 pm. every day. This two, three hours time, that kids sometimes get feared, sometimes furious. He starts feeling that he is not of much importance to his own beloved father and mother. He gets nervous, becomes very depressed. Furthermore, he stops talking or reacting, much like earlier. This particular phase starts from the age of 6 to 11 or 12. Parents also notice the difference in their child’s behaviour. But just by asking again and again or shouting at him, doesn’t work, on the contrary spoils the things to worst. If you observe your kid and notice such similarities in his behavioural changes in him, please don’t shout at him in a loud voice. Seat with him. Be his friend. Take his drawing book and ask him to draw some drawings. To encourage him, you also start drawing something with him on another piece of drawing paper. Encourage him, observe keenly what he is going to draw. If your beloved son or daughter starts drawing something evil, some black dark colours or showing something nicely in his expressions and suddenly starts showing fire and smoke on that drawing, it’s a sign that your child is very disturbed and feared or furious.

Granny’s Art Stories. Part 1

Mrs. Asha Donde is a renowned self-taught Artist and Writer. She is now 77 years old, still actively participating in various Art Events and functions. Travelling various Countries and meeting different people, visiting various Art Galleries all over the world is her passion. To fulfil her passion, she has travelled world-wide several times in last more than five decades. Her vast experience of past more than sixty-five years is really very interesting in the field of drawing & Paintings. She is writing her series of Articles in this column “Grani’s Art Stories”. We all can get the inspiration and guidance with her stories.Granny’s Art Stories. Part 1This writing brought back my old memories after a long time. I still remember our house like a dream, everyone wants to sit there and draw some good drawings because of the amazing natural beauty there. There was a lot of greenery, there was a lot of silence and the atmosphere was pleasant. It doesn’t seem like there will be that much peace nowadays.I have been interested in painting since my childhood. I was going to ’Balmohan Vidyamandir School’ in Dadar, Mumbai, that time it was called Bombay. As my house is very close to the school, our art teacher used to call me to draw a welcome rangoli. I learned a lot from him, he used to tell me a lot about painting. Every class in our school used to prepare one handmade magazine every year. I always got to do the cover page for that Magazine. At that time our school only provided us with colour and drawing papers. But while drawing at home, both my parents used to say, what are you doing? They didn’t like me drawing like that, because they thought I should get more marks in my studies. My uncle used to supply me with papers for my drawings, on the back of old paper in his office I used to get a lot of those papers. Many times I used to draw on the black flooring of our house. It was my hobby. I still remember, once I drew Meenakumari five or six times. My mother appreciated me every time but I was not satisfied. Due to persistence, Meena Kumari’ s drawing created by me started to appear better. Everybody appreciated that drawing. If we do something consistently, persistently, we benefit from it sometime or the other. It is perfectly applicable to drawing and painting. You have to keep practising; Practice makes us perfect.Art is an arrangement of various elements to give an experience to ourselves and others. There are 64 arts considered traditional in Indian Mythology. Photography, animation, game designing, virtual reality art, digital art are the new forms of art. Many of these subjects should be taught in art school. But in recent times children already know these topics. They learn them with the help of Google. But unfortunately, these newly introduced arts are not taught in Academic Education and training,Our own experience teaches us how and how much to appreciate the painter’s skills while looking at any drawing and painting. We always appreciate a song quickly, but not drawing or painting. Every picture is beautiful, we see it well, but do not watch them carefully. One should look at any Painting minutely from different directions, should think on the concept and creation of the painting. Then it has to be evaluated in its Merit which we feel from our mind.Similarly, If we look at nature with awareness, we find beauty in many things. One should get used to looking at nature closely, if you take a tree, its shape, the colour of its leaves, the different shapes of the different tree’s leaves, the colour of the tree trunks, the slenderness of the tree, the birds sitting on it, the butterfly, there is so much to see, this is where art begins. Minute and keen Observation is a very essential factor to create any form of art. Edison says, wherever there is a creation there is a creator behind it, without a creator there can be no creation. The depth of our thought should reflect in all of our Drawing or Painting.Back in those days modern art was just beginning. At that time we did not understand its meaning, but gradually I began to understand it. After watching them keenly and thinking about those paintings. The trend of drawing big paintings started at that time. For that however one should be able to afford to buy large canvases from home, which I could not afford. So making a big Painting was a dream for me at that time. Going to Jehangir Art Gallery or Nehru Center Art Gallery and seeing the paintings, I always realised that I can paint this too, but the problem was, from where to get such a big canvas? At that time a brilliant idea came to mind. It was a brilliant Idea for me, but might be stupid for others. I immediately implemented that Idea. I still remembered that ecstasy of that time. Medium sized or small sized Billboards placed on the streets were taken down by me with the help of my friends and new Drawings were painted with oil paint on the back side. The effect was the same, the practical implementation of my brilliant idea was good, but still, the question of who would take those paintings on the backside of billboards and printed banners would always loom.Recently many drawing contests have been held. Children benefit from these competitions. Unknowingly, through participating in these competitions we are always getting the opportunity to see many good drawings and paintings of other participants and unknowingly, our art improves. If the drawing or painting is well created, there is also a prize. When the reward is received, it gets a different overwhelming experience from others and boosts our confidence. Unfortunately, there were no such competitions in our childhood. If you don’t study and keep practising your Art, your creativity will not become

Granny’s Art Stories. Part 2

Granny’s Art Stories. Part 2When I was abroad, this one time I saw that there are street painters who take away your picture, or draw different pictures and put them up for sale. Painting is well respected abroad. We saw a man sitting on the road drawing sketches or portraits of them. That artist was doing a wrapped portrait in just ten minutes of those people one by one, sitting in front of him and roses were placed beside him, he also kept a bunch of papers of his other drawings beside him. People were coming and buying a picture and taking a rose from the bundle. Most likely they are being bought for someone’s birthday. The painter’s imagination works here to give a flower. Not every picture sells. Many a time after a name and fame gets to the Painting Artist, when he becomes able to create his own brand in the market, any of his drawing or painting is sold for millions and good painters get paid less, this is also a reality according to me. Van Gogh gives the example that he painted with charcoal in the early days but so did painters in India. To take an example, Raja Ravi Varma had first painted a picture on the wall of the temple and the villagers were shouting. So, he hides himself out of fear but his uncle praises him for his nice painting. That is why he later became a great painter. But the unfortunate reality is, we don’t appreciate good artists, good painters who are of small age, around us.I remembered from Van Gogh, his paintings were arranged in India in such a way that after entering a room you will see Van Gogh’s paintings all over the wall. Many people went to see them, but similarly, why can’t our Indian painters be exhibited like this? Granted such a great appreciation to foreign painters is good but it is also a fact that this happens because their marketing is more effective and extensive than our Indian Artist. This is of course my own observation-based perspective. I still remember, many years ago, when I went to Kowad to see Ranjit Desai, a great Marathi Novelist, he had paintings of many painters in the basement at his house. I was overwhelmed by those great paintings.I was fond of watching many exhibitions of good paintings by different Artists. I used to go to see exhibitions at Jehangir Art Gallery, Cymroza Art Gallery, and Tao Art Gallery regularly. But nowadays kids and even many art students see different paintings from YouTube or Pinterest and the most harmful part of it is that kids copy them. This copying is very wrong and dangerous for their true and natural growth in Art and Drawing. It is regrettable that children cannot express their own thoughts here. After passing the exam and CET, Admission is taken to Sir J.J. School of Art, or other Arts Colleges, but I need to mention this fact, which I have observed many times, some children change their direction after joining art college as they don’t even know whether to go for Fine Art or Applied Art as they don’t try to understand the basic fundamentals, potentials and differences in Fine Art and Applied Art.Sir J.J. School of Art Professor Kadam Sir used to teach in the School of Art. He was the dean of the college afterwards. I had very cordial relations with him at that time. He was fond of improving children’s knowledge of painting, he used to tell children that you should paint yourself. One’s own thoughts should appear in the painting. While I was going to meet him at his college to discuss Art, I remember he was always asking us to see the paintings of other professors like Shirgaonkar, Khanvilkar, Pujari and also asking us to go and see the sculpture department to see their work. Then once I got to see the entire book of Bhaiyyasaheb Chaudhary, the original artist of the Colgate advertisement. It was very nice, at that time it was difficult to even come across such books. They had many advertisements in it. Later, I still remember his words of experience when he was once invited as the chief guest at a program.Rajni Dandekar once held an exhibition at Jehangir Art Gallery for Camel Company. It was about fabric painting. After seeing that exhibition, I thought that we should also paint on sarees. After coming home, I painted on cloth. After that I did better with a lot of practice. Then I started taking fabric painting classes for Camel Company. Then I started painting newly arrived stained glass and started taking orders. If you have a good hand in painting, you can draw pictures in any medium and its marketing is also very important. One thing I noticed when I went abroad. One School’s drawing teacher brought his students to the art gallery to watch the paintings displayed over there. I think we should also follow this. This will create great interest in drawing and painting in a kid’s mind.Recently I went to Korum Mall, in Thane, Maharashtra for a competition, the purpose was to see recent children’s drawings. It was then realised that many young children had come to participate in that drawing fair. Being fresh artists who recently completed their college, they were doing good drawings, sketches with great enthusiasm. One boy was making drawings using modern technology (digital art) and he was also selling them. Many of his paintings were sold. Digital art is also equally good. Children need to learn its technical aspects minutely. And the image you create through this should be based on your own imagination, and composition. We should always adopt modern technology thoroughly and continuously. One must keep an eye on what is going on in the world. The old time is gone, now the new time has come. This should be kept in mind. One should learn to move forward

Hey Kids, Hope you have enjoyed the Ganpati Festival, Had a lot of fun with your cousins and friends in Ganpati Festival. And… must have participated in our Ganesha Drawing Cup Competition 2023.Though we launched Art Symphony a week before announcing this competition, it was a really short time span for us to arrange such a mega competition. But in spite of all the hurdles, we have got an overwhelming response from all of you.Today, I am elaborating about our action plan of the Art Symphony to achieve our goal to make all the Children Happy and Healthy through Drawing and Painting. We have planned to focus on three different aspects related to Child Art. Our first and foremost action plan in this mission is of course, to Create interest about drawing and painting in every kid’s mind. With this motto, we are going to launch various amazing and interesting videos, webinars and demonstrations specially for you. Our Drawing competitions will also be a part of this mission. Many times, we see parents encouraging and supporting their kids in their academic studies, but not giving free hand and support to their children, for their Visual art activities i.e. drawing, painting, handicraft etc.To overcome this bitter fact, we are going to Focus on making parents aware of the importance of Child Art. As I said earlier, Child care is a mirror reflection of children’s minds. Due to our hectic schedule and lifestyle, many children get feelings of loneliness and become victims of anxiety. This is a vicious circle. Once kids mentally enter in this state of mind, things start getting spoiled. We can understand a kid’s disturbed mental stages, through their drawings. There are several other aspects of child art which helps Nurturing children in a very healthy environment through encouraging them for their art, drawing. We are going to explain all these facts, with the support of various researches on Child Art through our articles to explain the importance of Child Art to Parents. Also we are going to conduct webinars and workshops especially for parents.Third activity is direct interaction, Involvement with children through various workshops, art fairs, live demonstrations of great artists, arranging interactions of children with renowned artists, one to one interactions of our member kids with the experts. These activities will start in full swing from Jan 2024.Our exclusive membership offers lots of add-on benefits to our members.
